Title:
Understanding Protein Mechanisms and Regulation
Section:
Projects
Languages:
English
Department:
Institution:
University of Michigan
Type:
Location:
Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States, 48109
Categories:
Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Structural Biology
Detail Description:

Protein flexibility and dynamics are crucial to ligand recognition and catalysis. We use molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to gain new and detailed insight into reaction mechanisms, binding events, and conformational changes in enzyme systems. We also utilize Langevin dynamics to accelerate conformational searching in systems where increased sampling of protein flexibility is necessary. Our group also applies statistical mechanics and quantum mechanics calculations to examine recognition processes. Follow our website
